Game Systems Design
Why make systems?
Ever seen something in a game and thought "wouldn't it be cool if this was in my game?" but you didn't know how to make it? Or found something that you had access to,
but trying to incorporate it into your own work was a nightmare? This section is dedicated to ideas that I've prototyped, purely out of curiousity, with the intention
of keeping them seperate from any specific game ideas. These projects are what I've been using to continually improve my knowledge with the Unreal Engine, mostly in my
own time.
I've lost countless hours of sleep. I've wasted days of work on something that had to eventually be deleted. I've questioned too often why I was bothering with these
ideas when I could have been making something faster and simpler, and I've crashed my computer far too many times while developing these projects The real question is,
why haven't I given up? At the end of the day I'm looking at the final result. I'll learn more by failing, and I'll be far happier if I can create something that's
just a little bit different.
I'm currently a student, so I've got all the creative freedom I need to see ideas through now, before things get more serious in years to come. The only thing I've
got to drive what I'm creating is the passion to see things through. Although some of these things have been in developments for months, I can guarantee that I've
spent more time just thinking about solutions than I have been implementing them.
