Pink Suit?
So, you’ve reached this page because you were curious about the pink suit… Well, in early 2010 I was invited to speak at the Game Developers Conference as part of The Nuovo Sessions, where I decided to present looking like this:
If you’re wondering why I have a pink suit or where I got it from… that doesn’t matter. But, given the topic of the session, I decided GDC was the perfect place to wear it again. I also gave a fairly strange and passionate speech about countering conventions and standing out for doing things differently, so the suit was really all just part of the same message.
At every conference I’ve been to since, the suit became a part of me. Whether I was showcasing the game in Los Angeles at E3 2010:
Receiving an award in Texas at GDC Online 2010:
Showcasing the game in Shanghai as part of IGF China at GDC China 2010:
Being interviewed in Las Vegas as part of G4TV’s coverage of the Indie Game Challenge at DICE 2010:
Showing off the game as part of the 2011 Independent Games Festival at the Games Developers Conference in San Francisco:
Showing the game at PAX Prime in Seattle when the game was selected for the PAX10:
Or winning an award at the 2012 Independent Games Festival, two years after I first decided to do this:
Whenever there’s a conference on and I’m there to show my game off, you can bet your boots that for at least one of the days there, you’ll be seeing me around in this.
Some people love it, others think it’s silly, but at the end of the day, this is me.
